As a child, Kelly wrote many stories and employed the local neighborhood kids as writers for her book company. Kelly finds inspiration for her children’s books from the simple things in life that are often overlooked. She often scratches her ideas on Post-it notes with worn-down pencils. She also appreciates the power of an off-beat short story or poem. She is excited to share her first published children's book and short story with her readers.
After earning her Masters in Education, Kelly worked in several school districts in the Chicago suburbs as a middle school educator. Since 2015, she has been an Enrichment and Core Instructor (online & remote) for Northwestern University's Center of Talent Development program.
Kelly lives in Wheaton, Illinois with her two amazing young boys, husband, and of course Shirley–a loving chocolate lab. When she's not writing, teaching, or heading to a travel basement tournament, she has passion for well-being and fitness--especially running and strength training. She looks forward to sharing her stories with the world.
